Stop notifications on car audio

Help! I just recently got a stereo in my car that supports both Bluetooth and Spotify over Bluetooth. Regardless I am getting dual notification sounds when I am in my car, one plays on the phone and the other interrupts my call/music through the stereo. Is there anyway aside from DND that I can stop the notifications coming over the stereo?
