Storage displays under 10gb total

I just got an S4 16gb from att. However, the phone is showing under 10gb of total storage space. So weird!

Thats normal 3gb for the operating systen and the other 3gb is for the drive partition data.

Welcome to Samsung and the US Carriers view on what the US Market will buy. They are selling a Galaxy Note 8.0 with 16GB (sorry 10GB) and yet they offer a 32GB in the EU. Yes they both offer microSD, but who cares you can't put apps on the SD cards and the friggin OEM's should know this buy now. The carriers don't care since they want you to use data, data, data and more data and ring up your bill.

Honestly if the 32GB GS4 doesn't arrive I will be forced to get the HTC One which is NOT my device of choice but having real storage is.

Unfortunately its typical for a device nowdays to have 5-7 GB taken up out the box. All depends on who made the phone and the carrier. Only real exception is iPhone as less than 3gb is taken up out the box due to no carrier bloat.
