Cool. Contact the developer of Gear Tracker and he will fill you in as to exactly what the issues are and how his app has solved them. He is a software genius and a very nice guy, too.
Hi Kko. I really hope Gear Tracker gets released in Cyprus. I wonder what the issue is? I'm still beta testing it and there have been loads of incremental changes to the betas. The latest beta is phenomenal and I consistently get perfect HR tracking results. It's now going through final tweaks and then it will be released as a new store version. Hopefully by the time that happens, it will also be released in Cyprus.Sonnnet hi again...I am reading every day all the forum members comments and suggestions...very helpful and encouraging
Unfortunately the Gear Tracker is not available for Cyprus "yet".
I contacted the developer 3-4 and he said he is doing his best.
Also I sent 4 error reports to Samsung regarding the HR issues and you all know what their response was..."We are doing our best and bla bla bla" hahaha ...they just do the classic copy paste poem![]()
Not True . That sounds like an anomoly and he just needs a reset. Mine is working perfectly so far. It even starts sensing quicker when I put it on. The update does turn off always on heart rate so that needs reset. I have used on eals and it's fine. It hasn't froze or given me an issue ant matches what I get on my cuff. I know another here that said his improved greatly. I didn't have issues prior exceot for one or two freezes after the first update. He had many issues and so far they are fixed. I am sure a few bad watches may be out there but I think they did well. Not looking promising with the new update https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...alaxy-Watch-since-upgrade-to/m-p/648475#M9826
I have had one lockup of heart rate since the update and it was totally unrelated to excersize. I blamed it on playing with various watch faces but I am not certain. It was stuck around 119 and would only go higher. A reboot fixed it. From what I have read about all id these sport watches(I owned a Fitbit Ionic as well) it must be worn below the ball joint of the wrist bone for best reading. I don't heavy a sweaty picture but I will try to show where I have it for exercise. It's hard to show but if I feel right by where the top of the band connects to the watch I can feel the tip of the rounded wrist bone.Well, after getting my £299 back from Samsung they only decided to go and release the new software update for the watch. So my thinking was that this update would solve all the HR problems so I went out and bought another. Doh!
At least this one is only costing me £249 after the cash-back deal, but that still does not make me any less of an imbecile. The HR problems are still there, no less than they were before whilst playing squash or out cycling. I have a Polar OH1 HR monitor which I can use to replace the watch's internal HR monitor while exercising, so at least I can successfully track my workouts now.
Not that I am kinky/perverted in any way, but would any of you people like to post images of your sweaty arms showing how you wear your watch when recording workouts and how successful the recording app is at monitoring your HR rate?
P.S I was prepared to purchase the watch irrespective of the HR problems cause a) I love this watch and b) I had a solution for obtaining the HR data for my workouts.
I just wish gear tracker shared with Samsung Health so I got all of the charts and such. Or at least had an android app for everything. I don't really want another monthly fee for Strava.[/QUOTE @Greymire Gear Tracker syncs with Strava which then syncs with S Health. This works with the free version of Strava, you don't have to pay for a subscription. Just make sure Strava is added as a 'connected service' to S Health on the phone. The only caveat is that the sync from Strava to S Health is usually overnight, so if you workout Monday afternoon, it won't show til Tuesday morning on S Health.
Hi to all and I hope you are well...for me news are very positive after the latest watch UI update. I have done 4 workouts, 12km each, and Thank God each one had faultless and right spot on Heart rate workings. I couldn't believe it myself that this major issue has been solved and I kept watching my HR all the time....I just hope this fix came to stay and sth else wont come up out of the blue.
Sonnnet, regarding the unavailability of Gear Tracker for my case, I finally got an official answer, after 2 months asking and waiting for Samsung support. So I just had to access to Gear Tracker which lasts only for 5 workouts....anw
Here below is their answer[/QUOTE @Kko 5 Annoying, but you'll get the full version and more by becoming a beta tester.
Thanks.. That was actually one I was looking at today. If you are considering a HR monitoring band I can recommend the Polar OH1. It costs £70 and you can wear it on your upper or lower arm (but not near the wrist). It is BLE and ANT+ so you can bluetooth pair it with Gear Tracker on your watch (with the watches internal HR disabled) and ANT+ pair it with other apps running on your phone which require HR readings at the same time (such as Strava).
