Strange loud noise while taking a picture or video. Video included.

My Note 4 has been making odd noises along with disoriented picture quality random times when I use the camera for either photos or video. It happens while using the stock camera along with snapchat. Anybody have an idea?

If someone asked me to guess how this was shot, I would have said it was done from a quadcopter... the sound, movement and jello all point to a quadcopter! Are you shooting this hand-held? Sorry, the only thing I can think of is a bad connection of the camera module. So if you don't use Snapchat, it works fine?

Haha, indeed that would make it more fascinating. But sadly no, this is shot with the note 4 in my hand...it does this in both stock and snapchat. I don't know if there is a correlation if both programs are running at the same time.

Really sounds like a hardware problem. You might want to take it in for a checkout from where ever you bought it.

Bad optical image stabilization components. Send it in for repair. Had this issue on mine, replacing the camera module fixed it. It's a cheap part but not easily done, requires screen removal to get to the back side of the motherboard in order to plug in certain ribbon cables.

Send it to Samsung? How long did it take for them repair it? That means I'll be without a phone for a few weeks it sounds. Do they send back the original phone?

I had put up with the camera for a couple of months by pointing the camera to the sky briefly before composing a shot. In general it would work temporarily but once the optical image stabilizer was deactivated by exiting the camera application the problem would come right back upon relaunch of the camera application. I ended up damaging my screen though and did a squaretrade warranty service on the device during which time I also requested a camera module replacement so I'm not sure how long Samsung takes the fix the camera. I'm in Hawaii and I sent my phone to squaretrade in Pennsylvania on a monday and received it back on friday.
