Trying to download a .jpg from a MMS message. Clikck download, says it's downloading then a fault message pops up which says " national access coverage not provided". This happens with the stock droid messaging system and also with Handcent. Any ideas?

Call Customer Service (*611 from the handset, or 800-922-0204) and have them check to see if a National Access Block has been placed on the account. That will prevent picture messaging, and downloads, and it sounds like that is what is going on here. Have them remove the data block, and everything should work again.

Thanks Cyber,
Didn't know if it was a network or a phone issue. I'll give them a call.

I would get that same message whether I was sending or receiving mms. The update to 2.2.1 fixed the problem. If the verizon rep doesn't help and if you're still on 2.2 try updating to the current os.

I've been having the same issue for the past week. It never happened on my Incredible and I never had it happen on the X until after the 2.2.1 update. I put a call VZW and they didn't find any erroneous settings on their end. I have noticed that this typically happens, at least for me, when the sender has requested a read receipt for messages they send. I've tried unchecking request a read receipt on my phone and it seems to have eliminated the problem (knock on wood).

Thanks to all. Anyway, it was a network issue. Seems that I was in an area that had "limited 3G" What ever that is. Works as designed now.

I have the same issue on my X, Had the problems from day one. That's why I went with Handcent and I still have the issues with national access and unable to send or receive mms.I notice the problem mostly right after a call or when i receive multiple txts/mms at once. No help from Verizon. Even with 2.2.1 update I am still running an old version of Handcent because of there double txt and random sending of txt when phone is powered off!

Try *228 Option 1 then Option 2 after that. Then reboot and see if that works. Usually good to do those once in a while.
