Question Strange popup

Every time I reboot my phone and even often randomly a strange popup window comes up (see the attached screenshot). What is causing that popup and how to disable it?
I'm running Android 12 on Samsung Galaxy M21

Sounds like the Chat features in Google Messages is going haywire? Try turning it on/off in your Messages settings.

I'm using the Samsung messages app, and I've never seen that pop-up. In fact I've never seen it on my Pixels using Google messages with RCS either. Strange

What messaging app are you using? That screen looks like it might be from Google Chat (the replacement for Hangouts).

Welcome to Android Central! You might be able to figure it out by tapping the Recent Apps/App Overview button (the 3 vertical line button at the left of the nav bar), then see which app is listed for that screen.

It was from the inbuilt SMS messages app. Now I replaced it with Textra which is much better and the popup windows are not coming up

FYI, the chat features that were mentioned presumably refer to RCS, which would give you much better messaging features when communicating with another person on RCS (like bigger photo and video filesizes that don't require compression): https://support.google.com/messages/answer/9487020. I'm not sure if Textra will do that on its own.

Yeah don't believe Textra has RCS features and a back up most likely need a 3rd party backup just for that

Thanks for that info/link about RCS - I wasn't aware of it. Will look more into details... But Textra has that 'delivered' feature, showing when the message has been sent (1 tick), and delivered (2 ticks). The rest, big photo and video file sizes, I don't care about.
