Struggling with the finger print sensor.

Dislike it. Hate it. Placement is really annoying, the shape of it is really annoying as well. With circle sensors, I can place my finger on it at any angle and it will read. Either his vertical oblong shape i need to hold my finger straight up in order for it to read.

Using the sensor should really be seamless to unlock the phone, being able to unlock it without thinking about it. With so many people complaining about it, and having to think and see whether this time it works or not, really equates to an awful fingerprint sensor.

Luckily for me the Iris scanner works well for me, so I pretty much use that to unlock the phone. Doesn't solve the issues though with using the fingerprint sensor to login to some apps.
Try registering your finger at different angles when registering a finger.

I've had the S8plus since launch day, and initially, I didn't lock the phone at all. since then, I've tried Iris scanner, face recognition, and fingerprint sensor, in that order. I tried Iris scanner for two solid days. I wear glasses, and while it did work, it wasn't very reliable. I'll bet I had about a 60% success rate, which is bad for this functionality. then I went to facial recognition, which I used for 4 days. initially, it worked 95% of the time, then all of a sudden, the accuracy dropped. by the time I was ready to stop using it, it was literally a coin flip's chance. so, I reluctantly went to the fingerprint scanner. I did both my pointer fingers, (I'm left handed) and I must say, I've used it for a solid week plus, and everyday, it gets more and more natural, and it's super accurate. with a case, you learn to use that to help you figure out where the sensor is, and I hardly ever hit the camera. with that being said, Samsung would endear themselves greatly by either moving the sensor more to the center and under the camera, or integrating it with the on screen home button on the front. but for now, I can handle what we have.

Did that the very first time I set it up, I do that with all fingerprint sensors. I even do it multiple times, and when I set it up again i even registered my fingerprint 360 degrees lol

I have glasses too and the iris scanner works even through my normal and polarised glasses fingerprint sensor works very well too imo and even though i don't think it's the perfect spot for it i don't have much issues reaching it but then again each case is different.
