Stuck at recovery

[AC Question]

Hi guys, im trying to root my HTC One M8 through sakitech's youtube instructions on youtube but im stuck at the fastboot as my recovery wont load and i also have a ***TAMPERED*** tag.

why wont the recovery load

Recovery should be accessible by Holding power and clicking volume up. Have you tried that?
