Help! I'm stuck in kids mode on my daughters galaxy tab 3 for kids. I have no idea what the password is to get to the parent settings. Is there a way to reset a password from kids mode?

Well I had the same problem with an S5. However, I managed to enter 0000 a few times then a forgot password link came up. Clicked on the 'forgot password' option which took me to the alternate password entry (which I also forgot LoL). So I entered 0000 in the alternate password option about twice and bingo... It asked me to enter a new password, followed by confirm new password. Thats what worked for me. Hope it helps anyone else who may still be stuck in kids mode.

Unfortunately not everything goes as planned. yes all those methods worked but once you go back to your main phone the status bar does not work and main button you need to reboot the whole phone. mind you i say back up all your things from your phone on to external drives so the data be saved. mind you do this if this happens to you as well

To drberg1000, you are a LIFESAVER (and tech god). I have had to do a factory reset once (we didn't know your method), and I practically went ballistic with my 7yo son. Lost so many pics/videos/contacts. Just looked up this problem for the second time, saw your answer, and am ecstatic! Thank you so much! :)

thank so much for the advice it really work for me, my niece was playing with my phone on kids mode and don't know what she did on it that I couldn't get out of kids mode since last night try'n to fix my phone with no luck. I found the answer right here thanks so much highly appreciated.:cool::cool::cool:

I tried everything you said, except there is one problem, i can't find the app icon on my phone to uninstall! :( can you please help. I don't know why it doesn't appear but the phone IS locked.

I imagine it's to late to help the original poster but hopefully it'll help someone else.

Wiping the cache didn't work for me. What did work was to boot into safe mode then uninstall kids mode.

  • Power Down
  • Turn on phone normally
  • Hold volume down while phone boots
  • Unlock phone
  • Select "TouchWiz Home"
  • Open App Drawer
  • Find "Kids Mode" icon
  • Touch and hold icon
  • Drag to uninstall
  • Reboot phone to exit safemode

This worked on the Samsung S5
*Safe Mode
*Menu
*Settings
*Application Manager
*Kids Mode
*Uninstall
*If Uninstall is grayed out
*Just clear data & force stop
