Oh my, I'm so glad to be part of this section. I have never ever seen so much bickering within a group. I mean yes we get the occasional person in here that says thier phone is better then ours. But we aren't bickering between oursselves.

This is why I stopped posting for the most part over on that other forum...let's call them LEXDA . Getting attacked for voicing opinions that don't match the groups general populace, rampant flaming for easy to solve questions, and general douchebaggery should be enough to keep anyone away from there except to grab some links/files and run.

Yeah unfortunately the fragmentation of the Android market seems to have turned some into forgetting we are all on the same side of the OS fence. The Samsung ad for the S3 with the sheep reference intended for Apple fans was a bit comical seeing how segments of the Android populace have started to show similar "symptoms".

Makes me think of Hondatech in it's similarities. If you're a rational individual you really only use the site for it's references and tech links, then do the rest of your posting on a more specialized forum.

Now I know why when they have the Polls or Bracket Wars that Apple can usually do well. Heck even when i was with webOS although we hae a few phones we always banded together.. it doesn't seem that way in the world of Android

All it would take is for the Android version of Ned Stark to lose his head to the boy king of the Apple kingdom and we shall unite under one banner!!

...sorry I love Game of Thrones..too much

On the topic of "xd@", I agree that it's real rough over there. I don't really think they have a hold on moderation, and that's why things spin out of control. AC is really friendly though, I like it over here too.

Here's my theory on this. Android is for lack of better term a techie's platform. Techies are known for their hubris and backing of products that they enjoy almost to a fault. They treat their chosen platform as a personal investment and very few if any people want to believe that they made a bad investment. Be that with personal time/funds/whatever. It then follows that some will defend their decision as the only decision especially when challenged on perceived faults, or advantages of other platforms.

It all plays very well in the hands of brand loyalty and other things that make the producer of said platform tons of money. But it does very little for the community. Largely segmented people on opposite sides of the same fence with very few crossing the narrow borders from HTC-land to Samsung-topia to Motorola-ville(Yes I left out LG but they're not usually a huge contender).

The closest I can liken this whole segmentation thing to is politics. You'll find the same mindset of "I can't be wrong". Die hard believers in one philosophy over the other even as the philosophies change. I say hang the nonsense and go where the wind(or in the case of Android) hardware takes you. Don't think that any one device is better than the other strictly due to your decision to purchase it and your ownership of it. Enjoy your device and don't beleaguer others for enjoying theirs, because unlike politics someone spent their hard earned money just like you did to purchase their new toy. Don't kick dirt on it and rub it in that yours is newer and shinier.

@Stelv

Hmm I think I mis labeled the topic... I'm not talking other forums on different sites I'm talking other phone sections on AC

Fanboys have no boundariea on any platform. Device malaise brings out the worst in the best of us, from time to time. I visit other forums but rarely feel like posting outside of the Rez forum on AC. Alotta chill pills & muzzles need distribution beyond these walls. I wonder if all 3 devices released on a staggered pattern, instead of lumped launch period in late Q4, if it would be any different.

Probably not.. Heck, just head over to LEXDA and mention not liking Sense. Or ask for something...anything.. it's like a pack of wild dogs in our own yard.

Most likely, and I figure whichever device was released first would bear the punishment as the others could say "I've got a newer platform" to start their trolling.

the thing that cracks me up about that other forum, which I go to often for technical info and links is whaat MrSmith observed: If someone asks a question or posts something in the incorrect topic heading (I posted a question about Dinc development in the development section, not the Q and A once..and it was like a pitbull attack) they are set upon like crazy. the ironic thing about it is that one of the rules is to read the other posts before posting your own to make sure multiple people aren't saying or asking the same things, then you see 6-10 posts berating the OP...one on top of the other.

And the really funny thing is that just answering the question, or ignoring the offense in the first place would have taken less energy and time...

After my experience, though, I am more aware of where and what I post, both the there and here, to make sure I follow the rules. I also try to search topics before I post questions.

Oh come now, let's not generalize pit bulls like that!

If anything, chihuahuas are more vicious.

EDIT: See!

Love the dev. community over there but I'm not keen on inquiring or opining outside those sections anymore. Not sure why but people sure did get touchy over there in a jiffy.

All of the people I used to talk to left because of the current environment. Can't say I blame them.

I'd like to see more thread merges on every web forum, in general but those peeps who are berating are ridiculous some times. I don't get why many of their mods would take the job if they won't play enforcer.

The thing that burns me is that it used to be that if you needed something you would go here or there. Now since LEXDA has gone to e, it is come here for q & a, go there for some files and the whatnot, AND now you have to check 3 other sites for the newest from that team or this team....more fragmentation = bad
