Hey guys I have a big problem, I have a green stuck pixel on my HTC One M8. I tried every stuck pixel removal app that I can think of and the stuck pixel is still there. What else can I do?

I rooted my HTC One M8 and unlocked bootloader, will that void my warranty? There has to be another way. Is there any other apps or methods to remove stuck pixel?

I have exactly 1 stuck pixel (stuck, not dead). It's not even noticeable unless I'm looking at an all-black screen. Doesn't bother me at all, honestly. I've tried the app to fix it (even the paid one, left it running over night) but no luck.

Really not worried/upset about it, though.

Ok guys I called HTC and they suggested that I send the phone for replacement or repair. If I send the phone while it is rooted and unlocked bootloader will it void my warranty?

Yeah, your warranty is now void but in a lot of cases in the past HTC actually ignored that so you might either get lucky and they'd replace it or unlucky and they give it back. You can try reading some threads on XDA-Developers regarding returning the device back to stock using either a RUU or a backup of stock ROM and recovery then relocking the bootloader. You'll find those under "Android Development", just use the search function.

And this is the thread for stock backups: COLLECTION of Stock backup's | HTC One (M8) | XDA Forums

It's risky sending a phone that's rooted and unlocked bootloader. I don't want to go through reverting back to stock, it's a pain. How can I make them think that the phone is locked bootloader and not rooted.

I am not sure. Even if you manage to relock the bootloader, it will still say "tampered" and "relocked" rather than the stock state which is "locked". I guess your only hope is to just send it in and pray for the best, otherwise you'll be stuck with that pixel forever.

If you are s-off you flash a modified hboot to make it look stock

Yeah but are you actually S-OFF? That's the most important part.

EDIT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2710503

Yes, there are two in the thread, and I believe you can flash whichever one you want. I'd recommend flashing the newer one (2.16.651.4) so you'd have a faster boot-up time. By the way, make your device is S-OFF and you know exactly what you're doing (watch videos, read tutorials) before attempting to do this.

Yes I am s-off, I know better to be s-off before doing this. I successfully did it, I downloaded the latest one and it worked :)

Awesome! That's good to know. Now delete any signs of root on your OS (I doubt they'll even bother checking that out) like SuperSU and such. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
