Stuck with default apps in dock?

I can't seem to place any different apps in the dock. Is this a setting or something wrong with my phone or user error?
I seem to be forced to have phone, messenger, camera and web.

You can but you have to be in the app drawer only.

Short cuts are just links to the apps. When you click them they act just like the app. But if you delete them the app is still on the phone.

And that is Sense 5 only. Not typical android, in case you were coming from iphone or something.
