Sunday, July 1 Launch (take 2)

Well my Sprint store (3rd party store) just called to me to see if I was still interested in my pre order, and I said si. The young lady asked me which model, and I told her the 16gb pebble blue model. Ready for pick up this Sunday.

Newport, De location for those near by :-)

I just called my local Sprint store in Rockwall, TX. The gentlemen there agreed to sell me the GS3 today. He even pulled my up my account and said he'd hold it for me until I get there after work (of course that's assuming no one else stops by before I get there). 16gb Pebble Blue.

Well I just called my two local Sprint stores regarding the S3 on JULY 1ST and they stated they will only be carrying the 16gb in both colors, and the 32gb will be available online or telesales only. I can order at store on the 1st and have it delivered. I live in the Ga area.

I was hoping to grab the phone today, but everyone I've called said they haven't gotten any. I may have to stop in a best buy to see. But I've been without a cell phone all week, and probably can't go to a sprint store until monday evening. Would be bummed if I got there monday and everyone was sold out!

I know everyone is frothing at the mouth to get this device (even though the 3G network is going to limit its usability), but you're one of the few who actually NEEDS it ASAP. My suggestion is to avoid the lines and order it from Sprint on Sunday morning, online or over the phone. It will guarantee that this hot little rascal will be in your hands no later than Tuesday, as Sprint ships next day air. That's my plan anyway. That's probably the best way to get the 32 GB version, since it won't be sold at most non-Sprint outlets for at least a week (and only at Sprint-only stores). You've waited this long to get it. One more day, with guaranteed delivery, is no big deal.

Thanks everyone for chiming in. Based on the list growing in the 1st post, I'm seeing a lot of green and am getting more hopeful I'll be able to pick one up! :D

I would do that, but it's just not convenient. :-\ The delivery requires signature (for good reason), and that means I'd have to stay home all day from work to sign for it. If they shipped FedEx, I could have it redirected to the FedEx hub, which is right up the street from where I work. The UPS hub it would go to is even further away than where I live and would be closed by the time I got there after work. I'm stuck w/ the stores, and I'm OK with that as long as they have 'em! That's why I didn't pre-order. I'm sure a lot of people are in the same situation.

This is definitely accurate. That's exactly the info I was given yesterday from Sprint. The 32 GB will not be sold in Sprint stores until some time later in July. Only the 16 GB version will be sold in stores June 1.

As long as you're not looking to get the 32 GB version, the 16 should be plentiful. I'd call your local store to see if they'll hold one for you. They're usually pretty good about taking care of their regular customers. Give them all your info, so they'll have it ready.

Thanks for the tip, that's what I plan on trying. There are two stores near me, so I should luck out with at least one of them. :)

Sprint ships UPS and it doesn't require a signature. I didn't have to sign anything. My daughters gs3 was left on the back patio according to my instructions I left on my front door.

Just called the store in SF on Mission (Yerba Buena store), and they said they'd have both 16 and 32 GB versions, both white and blue, on Sunday.

Just stopped by a local Sprint store down here in Miami, FL; they have 16GB for sure and have a waiting list for Sunday (must purchase a $50 gift card--but it can be applied to the phone). She wasn't sure if they had the 32GB but took my information and said that I'd be on the waiting list for it if there are any.

SWEET. Just bought my SGS3. They wouldn't activate it or let me take it home until Sunday, but it's all bought and paid for. The mall kiosk I was talking about had maybe 3 preorders of the White and none for the Pebble Blue (which I am getting). Their stock is only 7 whites and 3 blues, so it would appear that Pebble Blue will be the harder to find color of the two. The other local store in town had about 10 preorders and haven't been given a call from them yet, so I went ahead and purchased it from the mall kiosk. I can pick it up first thing in the morning Sunday already comptely activated. SO stoked!

What did you pay for, 16gb or 32gb?

Another thing to note, apparently one employee had sold the SIII early and got suspended, so they are super serious about making sure the device launches on the 1st.

My local store in South Bend, IN confirmed they have 6 white and 3 Blue but the WILL NOT sell them until after 12 noon on Sunday. I'll probably be picking up 2 of the white

The employee I spoke to said that anyone caught selling the phone before that time will have to pay full price for the phone

I can tell you, I've never wanted the tail end of a weekend to arrive so quickly. These arbitrary dates can be annoying, but I suppose I can understand why they do it.

Almost forgot, they didn't have any 32 gb in stock. Only 16 gb, which is what I picked up.

Arrgghh, this only leads me to believe that I will be ordering my 32gb online Sunday morning. I really wanted to pick it up in store this Sunday! Damn it!!
