OK, I downloaded and installed Clockworkmod's ROM Manager. It opens fine, but when I try looking for ROMs, it tells me I have to install Recovery. I hit OK and the list of available phones does not include the LG Spectrum. Sure, it includes the Nitro but that's not the same phone (close, but not quite).
I searched "clockworkmod recovery lg spectrum" and eventually end up at RootzWiki, where it says to do a bunch of command line stuff. I'm OK with moving apps and such, but this just sounds too risky for me to mess with my primary phone.
It sounds like enough people have gotten it to work that it's reliable, but I'm just not sure exactly what I'm doing. You know, this really isn't important enough for me right now to mess with...
Maybe at some point I'll decide I need to really push my phone to do a lot more, but I'd rather wait for ICS than potentially mess up my phone because I'm doing something too unfamiliar to me. Yeah, I did just fine with my Incredible but that was because there was a lot more support out there. After all, I rooted and everything after having the phone for over a year. I've had the Spectrum for a few months now... and I'd prefer the community develop a bit more.
Yeah, I know I'm chickening out but I'll wait until there's a phone out I'd like to upgrade to before I risk bricking my primary smartphone. Unless first there's a simple way to do this all... So I'm checking out the provided link to see if anyone over there can help too.
Thanks
