Superior Battery Charging kernel

Better Battery (New Kernel) for Rooted Users.

[KERNEL][AOSP&SENSE] - Superior Battery Charging. +4.18V off the charger! - xda-developers

I am using the Kernel SBC for Netarchy's CFS More Aggressive 4.2.2 (from Post 2) with MYN's Warm 2.2 RLS 4 and SetCpu (Using SmartAss with No Profiles) and WOW my Battery is sooooooooooo much better. Just read the posts. Everyone is having Great Battery stats with this Kernel. Just passing along some info. If you are rooted and want way better battery life, try this Kernel, it really works:D

So I gave the most updated version of this Kernel a try since the dev seems to have ironed out most of the bugs... I must say I think he's nailed the trickle charge issue with the EVO.

I, for the first time, left my EVO on the charger all night. Unlike before, I didn't have it drop from 100% to like 90 within 10 minutes of just sitting idle. The phone has been idle for about an hour and still sitting pretty at 100% without so much as a hiccup.

He is using the netarchy kernel as a base so it is also overclocked to 1267mhz and running like an absolute champ with VaelPak.

I'd recommend this kernel to anyone out there tired of having to take the EVO off the charger at exactly 100% to get good battery life. This also supports extended batteries.

Update:

Well I am using the 3500 extended Battery (Chinese Knock-Off) and my phone has been unplugged (after being plugged in overnight) for 2 hours and 30 minutes AND I am STILL at 100% Read a few e-mails and sent a few texts. This Kernel is AWESOME!!! I am using Myn's Warm 2.2 RLS4

I have everything turned on as well (other than 4g) GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, Sync. I also have SetCpu to Conservative (On Boot) and No Profiles.

I used it last night to try it out on Azreal 2.1 and did as intended. Very impressed for the initial period I had it on.
I flashed Azreal 3.0 though and leaving on stock #15 kernal for a little before I flash this one back. But i have much hope in this kernal just seeing how long it actually stuck at %100 after charge alone

I wasn't aware of any charging issue with the Evo. I always leave mine charging over night. I haven't seen any performance difference with the phone, or the battery.

The EVO doesn't trickle charge like every other phone on the planet.. basically you get to 100% and it starts discharging while still reporting 100%. Thats why people complain about it going from 100% to like 90% after they take the phone off of the charger (in like 5 minutes time with no use).

So far so good though... Seems just as Snappy as Stock

I guess I should finally root my Evo now. Had it since launch day and have resisted ever since. I prefer to keep the look and feel of the stock rom. Seems like this rom is close.

Anybody wanna suggest a good method to root and flash the new rom? I'm kinda lost on that front. Lol.

Easiest way? Use unrevoked. Follow the instructions it is a one click process. After that you'll be able to flash a ROM. They have stickies above that can help you out.

I concur, performance wise I've seen no hiccups what-so-ever and battery life has been stellar so far.

I was shocked that like an hour after ripping my phone off the charger I was still at 100%... after a little more testing if this stays as good as it's been I'm donating to that DEV for sure... This was the one thing about the EVO that really bugged me.

Thanks! I will start there! Much appreciated!

Np.

If I was a little vague and you want any more direct advice/opinions or have questions feel free to shoot me an email (digink@gmail.com) and I'll help you out best I can.

I've rooted a bunch of peoples phones and I know it can be a little intimidating so feel free to reach out.

Ill test once I get home and let you know.

This isn't stock, its based off the netarchy build. You having performance issues with it? I seem to be running top-notch even at 998MHz
