Superior Battery Charging kernel

Woah. I was using it to browse the web for an hour on N wifi...

Wow... thats even better than I got. Looks like that and CM are a good mix.

Ill test once I get home and let you know.

This isn't stock, its based off the netarchy build. You having performance issues with it? I seem to be running top-notch even at 998MHz

It works Fine for me but Kernels tend to be touchy with it comes to 4G

Im in a 4G area but its spotty

Here is a screenshot after I plugged it back into my car charger today. I actually went 4 hours at 100% after a full night charge. I will post a screen of that tomorrow. This Kernel is amazing.

I've been getting great results with it. I was surprised no one here commented in the thread when I first posted it lol

Guess I had to be the guniea pig and test it out on my EVO for once.

Always bro...

I'm too lazy to Run Krap if its not tested first I dont want to go back and reflash other things...

I have been using since yesterday morning. Great Kernel. I can't believe how awesome the battery is now.

Lets keep things on topic please. If try this kernel if I still had an evo. It looks pretty good.

The EVO doesn't trickle charge like every other phone on the planet.. basically you get to 100% and it starts discharging while still reporting 100%. Thats why people complain about it going from 100% to like 90% after they take the phone off of the charger (in like 5 minutes time with no use).

That's actually not true.... Most electronics don't trickle charge, they float charge. You may not realize it because most electronics don't have a battery indicator that actually tells you the %. I've tested on 4 other Android devices and they all do the same. As a matter of fact, even my CR-48 does it. Tho it seems to be a little more advanced with the float charge. Because if I leave it charged all night, I'll notice the & go down faster than if I leave it fully charged for like an hour or two. So I think it may trickle charge it for a certain amount of time before it starts float charging to save the batteries lifespan.. ...While this kernel seems amazing, I'm still a little iffy about it myself. The reason most newer electronics don't trickle charge is because it's not good for the battery itself. Keeping the voltage so high for so many hours like at night while you're sleeping is not good at all for the battery. Electronic devices aren't meant to be on a charger for extended periods of time which is why they've stopped with trickle charging. What they've switched to is "Floating charge". Which basically means it'l charge it, but it'll slowly let it discharge to a preset Voltage limit. The idea behind it is to prevent overcharging like trickle charging does and to extend the lifespan of the battery. Another part of it is if it's allowed to slowly discharge by time the device is used it shouldn't have gone down too significantly. Which is why if you notice, depending on how long you leave the battery charging, depends on how fast you'll see that % drop. I'm not trying to take away from this kernel at all, I just think it's important to know exactly whats going on and what it's doing to the battery. To me it seems pretty risky. But I guess I'll just fall back and see what happens.. I will also say that the battery life is absolutely ridiculous lol..

Edit: just want to add... I have the chinese batteries with the wall charger.. That charger trickle charges. And I used to get battery life like you guys are getting now with this kernel (they do the same thing)... Well in the 4 months I've been using them, I've noticed that the batteries aren't lasting anywhere near what they did. I could go at least an hour before it'll drop to 99%. Now, I'm lucky if I get 15 minutes before it drops to 99%. Hell I can leave the screen off and not touch it and I still cant get anywhere near the 1 hour mark. So like I said, be aware of what you're doing to the battery...
Hope I didn't spoil the fun LOL

^ Good thing i have 2 OEM batteries. :D
I still got that funky black one that was sent to me, and the regular red one.

Im gonna use the hell outta the black one with the SBC haha

does this Kernal work with CM 6.1.1? If so, definitely flashing it tonight.

Which link should I download for CM6? this one? "SBC for New CM kernel!!"

Yes, I believe that's why he made that kernel. You get a special kernel and I don't :(

So I just flash this CM Kernal, and I'm good? I think I'm reading into that xda thread to much, guys are saying **** I don't understand at all, lol.

i flashed this kernel lastnight. and today i can def. see a difference in my phones battery life. took it off the charger at 4 am this morning. its 6:10 PM right now and i am curently look at 70% battery. and i haven't seen a charger at all today. im very impressed.

why can't i find this link?

I've done searches here and XDA and can't find the link SBC for New CM kernel!!"......Wouldn't it be SBC for New CM Rom? CM is a rom not a kernel right?

Is anyone available to help me flash this new kernel? XDA is confusing, and at 280+ posts I will never catch up.

I rooted my EVO with unrevoked (don't remember if it was forever or not..oops) a while ago for tethering. Recently downloaded Rom Manager and flashed CM6.1.1. I really don't have a clue what I'm doing...and I probably shouldn't be doing this kind of thing...but I am bored with the phone again and want to mess with it.

I think I have to clear cache/dalvik (have no idea what this is or how to do it) before I can flash a new kernel...can someone help me step-by-step flash this kernel?
