Anybody here ever sell any devices on Swappa? Here's the scenario... I have the N10+, still owe considerably probably 500 on it through Samsung financing. I have my hands on an old Galaxy S7 that Samsung will give me 175 for trade in towards a renewed Note 20 Ultra.

I could potentially keep my N10+ and also the N20 Ultra this way. Or potentially sell the N10+ on my own and get more money for it, possibly through Swappa as I have all the accessories, the box, and several cases. Pay off the device this way. I haven't decided yet.

Any thoughts on Swappa for stuff like this?

Well that sucks. Lol.

I don't think financing a device from Samsung is quite the same as financing one from a carrier though. But who knows.

I'm pretty sure when you're selling on Swappa it's just going to ask for your IMEI and it will determine if it's eligible to be sold and my thinking is you will be able to sell it..

Edit: I'm thinking Samsung might be okay but here's the lingo

Outstanding Financial Obligation

Devices must be free and clear of equipment installment plans and standard contracts to be eligible for sale on Swappa.

Equipment Installment Plans: Devices on equipment installment plans (EIP) are still owned by the carrier or company, and could be blocked if the balance is not paid. Therefore, they are not eligible for sale on Swappa until paid in full. Examples include: T-Mobile's JUMP!, AT&T's Next, Verizon's Device Payment Plan ("DPP", formerly called Edge), Rent-A-Center financing, and the iPhone Upgrade Program (Apple's in-house financing).

Yeah my device is not on an EIP. It's on my Samsung financing account which is a bit different as I can buy anything on it and I have. Not just phones, but other electronics as well.

I'm pretty sure Samsung doesn't give a flip what I do with the phone as long as it's paid for. And given that they aren't a mobile carrier, I don't really think they would have one way or another of knowing if the device was sold anyways.

That being said, I probably won't do this anyways, but I just thought I would ask.

How about Swappa for purchasing devices? It seems to be highly recommended by most people. I am thinking about looking either a Note 9 or an S10+ as a backup device and to get them fairly cheap. Swappa has all kinds of prices for these devices, a lot of them between 200-300 dollars.
