so, you swappers are going without a phone until the 26th, or have an extra on hand?
I just returned my GNex today. Reactivated my DX, it will work fine for the next few weeks. Couldn't enjoy my Nexus without worrying about battery life running out. I loved ICS so it was a tough decision but the XL battery swayed me.
Wise choice. Wait until you see how much stronger your signal strength and reception is with the Razr.

Rezound: better screen, better battery life (with extended), call quality, signal strength, build quality, highest ppi, louder speakerphone, NO Lag (even with Sense), unlockable bootloader, best camera, etc... Best one on VZW at this time! Roll on, Rezound....
Edit: and probably the quickest one to ICS.
That's actually a pretty good idea. I have been debating whether or not I was going to be willing to give up the ultra-thin and lightweight aspects of the razr for more battery. Since I only run out of battery on rare occasions when I know I may be traveling or something, I could just throw one of these things in my back pocket (looks like they make one that is about the size of a smartphone) and when I need to, just slip it in with my razr and charge it while it all sits in my pocket.
Anybody have any experience with these things?
Lets see. Better screen? Define better. Contrast ratio on it sucks. I would rather have better color and contrast than a screen with a higher ppi count that looks washed out and like crap. And lets not mention how HTC wont fuse the glass to the display so lint and stuff like that gets between the lcd and display and looks super awesome. And dont say it wont/cant happen i seen ti happen on a few and even a few other HTC phones.Call quality and signal strength. Hmm my buddys rezound has about the same as my Gnex and my Razr stomps both. however i will say the call quality on both ends of the Gnex is better than the Rezound. However incoming sounds better on the Razr but outgoing people said i sound really quiet. Louder speakerphone. Yeah but dl a app and the Razr and Gnex are about the same. No lag? Im calling BS on that because i used his Rezound and had some lag with it like my stock rom on my Gnex. Razr is a little laggy but the best out of the 3 using stock roms. However using codenamedroid my gnex has zero lag what so ever. Unlockable boot loader yes the razr dont have that "Thanks moto" But you void your warranty doing that. On the gnex i just click one buttom then hit vol up and power and mines unlocked. Best camera....hmmm gonna have to call bs on that one to as the iphone 4's camera bruatly rapes the Rezounds like their is no tomorrow
However i will say 1.35ghz gnex stomps a 1.8ghz Rezound into the ground. Ti > old Snapdagon. higher clock dont mean its faster ie core 2 duo 2ghz and a 2.5ghz core i5. Guess what ones faster. I mean even a stock clocked Razr slaps a Rezound again but then again HTC did not really care about performance on that phone all they cared about was dangling the "Beats by dre" in your face so you wouldn't mind the old hardware.
But i am curious to feel the razr maxx in my hand. I got a feeling its going to feel more like a remote for a tv. I just really like the form factor of the Razr just wish it was a little more rounded on the corners but i guess that's because unlike samsung they dident feel like "cutting the corners" lol Reference to them going with cheap glass instead of gorilla glass.
But since it looks like removing the back cover of the Razr is a task but not all that hard and the battery is removable do you think a company in china will come out with a replacement back for the non max razr that will work with the battery from the maxx? Perhaps the oem replacements parts will show up on ebay and someone can convert their razr to the maxx. Just something i been thinking about.
Everything you said about the Rezound is BS. I have actually USED all 3, and the Rezound is the best of the three. And no, the iPhone camera does not beat the Rezound:Schmackdown! HTC Rezound vs iPhone 4S - YouTube
And if you remove ICS from GN, all you have is a Samsung phone with no removable storage. The Razr is better than the GN, but not up with the Rezound, IMHO.

For those who are past the return date for Razr, if you have an extra device, why not sell your Razr on eBay....they are still selling for around 400 used, and probably more depending on how much you have used it. Then you can just pay full price for the Maxx
I'm currently on a Blackberry, and am debating switching to the Maxx. Losing the keyboard will be my biggest concern I think
My only real issue with the Rezound is the size and weight. It's big and heavy. That was the phone I was most looking forward to but when I saw it, it just looked like a bigger version of my Incredible. The design is just too plain with all of the other options available.
Not a big fan of Sense either, but I could have lived with it if HTC would have just been a little more innovative with the design and scaled down the weight.
From a personal observation of previously having 2 HTC phones, they are notoriously slow to fix bugs and update their OS. This is a direct result of Sense just being so integrated into the OS, they have to recode it for every OS, revision. This is what causes the delay in fixing bugs and delays the deployment of new OS.

I use one by engergizer/ xcell and for the few times I have used it, whether for an ipod, iphone, nintendo, etc. no issues. Better then extra batteries I will never use.
People shouldn't be thrown off by the "thicker" moniker of the MAXX. I love the size of my DROID X and did the measurements and the MAXX is still slightly thinner than my X, so that's fine by me. SOLD. upgrade comes at the end of Feb.
