Swipe lock screen not always showing up?

My phone has started doing something weird. I removed all lock screen security and was using the swipe option to get to the home screen. Now, sometimes when I press the home button, the swipe lock screen is not always present... when I press the home button, I am taken directly to the home screen!!!

Anyone else experience this? Any solutions?

It sounds like an app is running keeping the phone awake even when the screen is sleeping. Check your running apps and see if something like Google Maps is running or anything that you know of that keeps the phone awake while it's open is running. You can download an app called AirPush or another similar app that will show you what apps have what permissions to figure out which ones have permission to keep the phone awake. Alternatively you can look at your multitasking screen and see if you notice anything there, or you could look at your battery usage screen and see what is consuming power. Chances are if it isn't letting your phone sleep it will appear there as well.

If you are "locking" your phone, but then "waking your phone up" within like 5 seconds of "locking it", then it will bypass the "lock screen"

at least that's what mine does.

Yeah, mine isn't doing that. It shows the swipe screen only two times. After that, it only shows the home screen when I press the home button. This is waiting minutes between swipes.

When I select the FPS lock method, it appears to work normally. This is weird.

True. You can change this time in the lockscreen settings, not screen settings.

It is weird.......... I'm sticking to my feeling that it's a running app. Have you looked for one or tried Air Push to identify apps with permission to keep the phone awake. If I read your post correctly it must be something that starts automatically if you can swipe twice and then it starts going straight to your home screen, so I would think you could find it in your running apps list.

I just went nuclear on it and did a reset. Problem solved, but had to re-do everything. :(

Yeah the reset sucks, but I'm glad your device is yours again. I would just be cautious when installing of the things you lost because you may install the problem app again and end up back where you started. However knowing that everything is good now if it does revert you'll maybe have a better handle on the origin of the issue.

Cheers
