Swipe pattern resets

Ok so this is the SECOND time this has come up,first time I had to hard factory reset my phone. This time atleast the fingerprint is saving me for now.
So the issue is i use swipe pattern for my basic lock screen.well randomly while not in phone setting or changing anything this password resets and is no longer valid. Won't accept any variation either. This is very concerning as last time I was forced to factory reset

You may need to get your software flashed again, with a fresh copy of your software. You can bring it to a local best buy, if you have one, and they will do it for free, in most cases.

If not, then you should be able to find your latest software through Sammobile.com, and find the compatible version for your device and use Odin to flash it. You "may" have a corrupted copy of the OS.
