Swipe to unlock & fingerprint at the same time

Android 5.1.1 on Galaxy S6

I have used the fingerprint to unlock since I bought my phone but lately ive realised it also says swipe to unlock sometimes.

Not sure why this is can anyone help.

Whats the point of having fingerprint unlock when you can just swipe to unlock when there is a notification.

Exactly - I agree entirely. I had exactly the same problem. There was no way to get rid of it!

I have just done a factory reset of my phone - the problem is temporarily fixed. I stress "temporarily" because my phone has hardware faults (for example, my Vodafone widget won't refresh automatically after doing a power on or a restart). I am dropping my phone into my local Vodafone store this week so they can send it off to Sydney for replacement under warranty.
