I use to like Apex back in the day , was similar to NovaAbsolutely. I've been using it for years after switching from Apex.

I've never tried Apex. I think Nova is the only 3rd party launcher I've used for an extended period of time.

I pretty much stayed between them , and Root launcher that gave pixel experienceYeah, Apex was the first 3rd party launcher I used.
Nova is probably the most popular.
Yeah, when I got my first Android phone I went with Nova from suggestions in the threads. It worked for what I needed it to, so I didn't bother trying anything else long term. I may install it on my 10+ at some point. I'm fine with One UI for now though.
When they get downloaded?I installed Nova but can't figure out how to add apps to show on my screen.

It's interesting so many are using Nova. I've actually found Apex to be superior to Nova.
Sorry I'm not sure what you mean?

open drawer, drag and drop on screen, I presume
If you want apps to automatically appear on home screen upon download it's under Settings>Display>Home screen>Add apps to Home screen. I'm unsure if that's what Casey is referring to though. I didn't quite understand his post.
Sorry , I meant do you mean if apps get downloaded from play store ?Sorry I'm not sure what you mean?

Yes thanks, this is what I mean. I followed your steps but only a few icons show up on the home screen. I can't figure out how to add all the other app icons to my screens. I also set preference to always use Nova launcher, but still this doesn't show all my apps. I'm probably not explaining it correctly and doing something wrong.
If the apps are already downloaded you'll have to manually move them from the app drawer. Are you trying to get rid of the app drawer all together, and have all your apps on your home screens?
