Switching from Charge to Bionic, best way to transfer everything?

I will hopefully getting a Bionic tomorrow or Friday to replace my Charge. What is the best way to transfer everything over? I have a bunch of apps that I would want to keep. Also, is there any way to transfer my stats and whatnot on games?

Re: Switching from Charge to Bionic, best way to transfer everyth

Most apps restore when you login to your Google account but some are likely to be forgotten by the restoration process. Its kind of iffy between going from froyo and gingerbread. I don't think many apps support restoring data. Sometimes copying over game folders on your SD card to the new phone will restore your game data.

I am curious, are you paying retail for the bionic?

No, I will probably catch a lot of hell for this, but I bought the charge less than a month ago at costco. It absolutely hate it and am still within my 90 days to exchange it.

The screen on the Charge kicks the Bionics a**, both are 4g, just curious why are you changing?

Even if the Charge had a better screen, the Bionic is roughly twice the phone for the same price as a Charge; seems like a no-brainer for me (especially considering I'm doing the same thing).

I think the screen on the Bionic kicks the Charge's a**. Why wouldn't he want to change?

I should have gotten my POS Tbolt from costco so I could exchange but now I am left in a tricky position. Do I pay retail for the bionic and remain happy until the Prime comes out if it does, which could be a couple of months, or do I wait to see the Prime or whatever ICS phone comes out end of the year.

Sorry just asking...screens are indeed very subjective.

More memory and the dual core are sweet but not sure I would trade the charge for it. But there you have it everyone has a preference. Personally I am more interested in the Droid Prime then either. I have a fascinate the original galaxy s phone and love it so I am biased. Not attacking anyone's choice or opinion bout the charge. If any thing I hope the OP will revisit this post after the trade and give some facts about what he likes or dislikes in the end and compare the 2.

Going to do the exact same thing. Bought the Charge from BB on the 13th of last month to at least tide me over until the Bionic came out. I've had nothing but problems with the phone whether its doing a battery pull/restart every single day because something locks up or I can't watch Youtube videos, having the phone completely shut itself off after taking a picture with the camera or messages or the phone not being able to pick up a 4G or even 3G signal and being completely useless in areas where I had absolutely no problems with before on my BB Storm.

The Charge is beautiful, I bought it because my wife has her Fascinate and I love the display on both phones and the ease of use and such, but I cannot see myself for a few 20 months living with this phone with all the problems I have encountered even it if was just this one phone. So either tonight or tomorrow I will go back to BB, return the phone and get the phone I had originally planned to get all along.

I am having the same issues. I am on my 3rd Charge in 4 months. Lots of soft resets and the occasional full factory reset. Of course Big Red is offering a swap for a TB or Revolution says no chance for Bionic. They are however offering me an "early upgrade" to Bionic. The screen on the Charge is awesome, but the poor memory (356m) creates the lock-ups. Hopefully I will be making the switch later today.

Re: Switching from Charge to Bionic, best way to transfer everyth

I've been lurking the bionic forums for awhile, and have had the charge for about two months now. I had problems with it for a good month, and thought for sure I'd be swapping out for a bionic. After rooting my charge though, I don't think I could be any happier with it, and I cannot see the bionic being faster than it is now, and will be saving my money until the prime comes out. Just my 2 cents

Not to be an ******* but does anyone have any other advice about my original question other than the first respnse?

With that said though...

The screen on the charge is amazing, I will give it that. Other than that though I can't stand the thing. The call quality sucks, speak phone is pretty much worthless, it freezes and lags on me quite a bit, many times the home screens just go completely blank, and a few other more minor problems. The call quality alone is enough reason for me to get rid of it.

If any thing I hope the OP will revisit this post after the trade and give some facts about what he likes or dislikes in the end and compare the 2.

I intend to, but there is a good chance I will forget.

Re: Switching from Charge to Bionic, best way to transfer everyth

how much were they going to charge you for a bionic?

Sync calendar, contacts, etc to Google. An app called Tulu Application can be used to back up your apps to your SD Card.

Re: Switching from Charge to Bionic, best way to transfer everyth

I just got app 2 SD pro and moved everything over like that. Will that carry over just the app or will it also move everything else that is normally saved in the app like favorites, stats, saved games etc?

Re: Switching from Charge to Bionic, best way to transfer everyth

Well it is a moot point for now anyway. Costco is already sold out and won't have more until the 13th.

I didn't even ask. I just hope they will still be offering that deal when they get more in. They said they will have more on the 13th and might get some before then but they don't know.

Yeah, my apps didn't restore to my Bionic after signing into the Google account. They never effing do, it pisses me off.
