switching my wife's old phone for my old phone

Long story short. I lost my phone. Did a lock and reset through Google. Got a new phone and set it up on Verizon under my number. One day later co-workers find my old phone. I decide to replace my wife's crappy phone with my old phone that still works great. Did another factory reset, and deleted my old phone from my Google account.Backed up everthing on wifes phone into google. Switch SIM card with wife's SIM card. Started my old phone and entered wife's google info. Phone says to enter google account that was originally synced to the phone. I know Verizon will let you switch phone numbers between phones on you account. Problem is that when I added the new phone to my account it deleted my old phone. Sorry this is long winded, but I google every way to make this work and came up with nothing.

You've encountered Google Factory Reset Protection. It just means that you didn't fully remove your Google account from the phone before doing a factory reset, so you'll need to just enter your credentials once, which will allow her to sign in and enter hers.
