Switching to S8+

Hey guys!
I really love the V20 but since I'm lucky and got the screen retention twice now, I'm thinking of having an S8+ .
Someone's offering me a brand new S8+ for V20.
You think it's a good move?
To let go of the 2nd display and the swappable battery? Quad DAC?
Screen retention is the main reason why I'm thinking of thi. I don't want to keep paying 150USD when the warranty runs out

Depends on what you like. The S8 plus is worth more money

If it's straight swap... Yes.

I'd keep the V20. Just nothing about the S8 that would interest me, and I'd rather deal with temporary screen retention than risk permanent screen burn in.

Its the plus model so it has a better resale value. If it were me right now I would do the trade, sell it and put the money towards the V30

I don't care much about resell value when the phone is of little functional value to me. So my opinion still stands.

I get that but since I'm interested in the V30 o thought that was good way reduce my cost. Thought maybe the OP might want to go that route

That's strange, I never experienced image retention at all during my whole time using the V20. Have you tried using a stuck pixel fixer on YouTube? It helps with my Samsung laptop that occasionally gets image retention, just leave it on and it goes away within 15 minutes or less. The S8+ is a good phone, but after using it for a week, I just couldn't get used to the awkward shape and fingerprint scanner placement. What also annoyed me was when I tried reaching for the notification bar, my thumbs would get tired since it's super tall. Went back to my V20 and I couldn't be any happier. BTW, AMOLED screens can get permanent screen burn in, maybe not right away but over time.

That is a good idea actually. The S8+ is worth more. Now I'm thinking the person offering the trade might be up to something. It might be too good to be true, make sure it's not a fake Chinese clone S8+.

Or they really hate the S8+ which is still crazy because they could easily unload it on Swappa
