I just saw an article online about Pixel 3/XL units suffering from swollen batteries:
https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/...-pixel-3-xl-battery-swelling-damaging-phones/

I guess I'm not alone. Google replaced mine in July of last year because it swelled so much it ruptured. I didn't know there was a problem until the "squeeze for Google Assistant" function started working erratically. The damage was hidden by the case I had on the phone.

This is what it looked like.Pixel 3.jpg

I'm shocked by the damage on the back, most phones I've seen swollen batteries on the screen will push out of the phone.

Will they cover this ?

They replaced it with a new phone. It was under warranty at the time.

It had not sat unused. It never overheated until the day I discovered it had ruptured. As I recall, it was hot at that point, but it's been over a year now.

I would give them a call again, it looks like a pattern and you replaced it once for this very resolution.

I apparently wasn't clear. The picture I included was of the original phone before they replaced it. The replacement phone is just fine.
