Synced contacts before reset, still lost them after, how can I recover them?

So I needed to reset my Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime. I confirmed if everything was synced to my Google account, and everything was checked. Then I reset the phone. I then find out that I lost all my contacts which apparently should be there since I made sure to sync before resetting. Already checked the settings to display all contacts. I checked my Gmail account for my contacts but there were no phone numbers there; only some email addresses. Selected recover contacts to one week but there was nothing there.
Please help.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you certain those contacts were associated with your Google account in the first place, or were they only saved to the local Phone account? The latter don't sync with Google at all.
