Just got into changing system fonts.
Really changes look and feel of phone.
This particular font is called santas sleigh font and I flashed it just to give you guys a look at one of the more outlandish ones. I'll go back to a more sedate one in a sec.

There are tons and I mean tons of fonts here:

239 Flashable Font Packs
DO NOT FLASH THE EDIFY FONTS

So now its on to flashing fonts....getting more and more carried away fussing about with this fone....sigh

The font itself is a bit too outlandish for my taste but I'm lovin' the Revolution Theme. I was hooked on the Super Dark theme but the Revolution one just looks much cleaner.

P.S. You should post a "How To" on changing your system font.

Thats why its called SYSTEM fonts silly duh

I can imagine all you fellers flashing away...my sdcard root folder is overflowing with zip files..

I'm eager to do this but one question, if I flash one of these fonts, how do I get back to my current font? Nandroid restore?

When you go to the link above, the OP gives you a link to the original font which is droidsans fontpack.

Before flashing anything its a good idea to have a good backup. I don't backup every single time I flash even though rom manager asks cos I have a solid one I can fall back on even with total brick.

Can I have a "how to"? I love this and I'm dying to do it!

Font Change How To; basic

You must be rooted and have Clockwork, and ROM manager installed to use this method. There are instructions using adb in the xda link below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801160

Select the font you choose to down load from the desired link.

Please note that you should look at the screen shot closely. Some fonts look cool but when they are on your phone they can be so large or ornate that they can make it difficult to read.
FYI: If you use the notepad some of the fonts make it so the words do not line up on the lines.. This will also affect the way some other displays of text are displayed.

I would suggest that you download the desired font packs to a folder (I named mine ‘Fonts’)
Then copied the entire folder to the sd card on the phone when I was ready.

When ready to load (flash) the new font. Boot into Clockwork Recovery via ROM Manager.

Use the volume up/down to negotiate the menus in Clockwork Recovery. The back <- arrow selects you desired item.
You will want to ‘install a zip from sd card’.

Negotiate your way (using the volume rocker and the back soft key) to the file folder named ‘Fonts’ then select the desired font pack you wish to install.

Once you have selected it you will have to negotiate your way through a lot of ‘no’ options to the yes- option to install the font pack (zip file).

It will process the pack to the correct directory on the phone. Clockwork will return you to the last menu that you used and you will have to negotiate your way back to the main menu where you will want to reboot the phone.
Note: If you are not attentive to the menu you can navigate your way to clearing cache, wiping the phone or installing the update.. You have to pay attention to where you are going.

Keep in mind that this is a system font and you will see it EVERYWHERE (SMS, emails, popup notifications, submenus etc.. in all programs It will replace the numbers on your calculator… except the dial pad numbers.

Hope this helps…. Happy flashing

Jae:

wow you use manual to do your flashing?

much easier is with rom manager...with "install rom from sd card" option

the process is all automatic...no navigating menus etc, auto boot etc..

New to this flashing stuff (only a couple of weeks old).

I sometimes find the hard way around things. :o Thanks for clarifying. So for future reference Please use shortcuts described in the previous post...:p

I do it manual also,i feel safer that way, don't know why

I thought I would give this a bump...been seeing a few peeps saying "i got root, now what?" or "what are some cool stuff to flash" .

In froyo there is a change font setting with 3 lame fonts and where you can get more. The catch is you gotta pay for em.

These are free and the selection is huge...239 to be exact and they work on our phones. These get flashed in cwm.

Check em out.

If you're a flash addict ( and I know you are ) these will satisfy you for awhile

edit: oh and disregard the comments above about rom manager... I stopped using that long time ago lol

edit #2: Just went to the xda site and the original poster is offering edify versions...DO NOT USE THOSE...just the ones on the main page
