System Fonts..(for those looking for new stuff to flash)

Wow you guys are on it with these fonts. I never even thought about getting them into the settings menu. When I get home I be mucking around :-P

Was that font flashed to the phone or installed via market/apk? - Edit: Got my answer..

As you probably found, I got it through the Market but it is no longer available there. I'm trying to find where the files are stored on my phone to see if I can figure anything out about what it takes to get the phone to recognize it.

I've used an app called "Fontomizer" . It doesn't have the 239 choices, but it will let you pick from a list of fonts and apply them. SO far it has worked with SC2.9.2
You might take a look and see it gives you ideas on how they do it.

I was able to download any of the zip'd font files and flash them directly in clockwork, so I'm not sure what all this fuss is about unzipping them =)

Okay.. more information: The fonts are installed as flipfonts. You can create your own flipfonts using the process lined out in this post: Link.. Looks pretty easy. Just have to find all the files. I noticed when I was trying to down load all the required font and apk files the links are dead. bummer.

Sorry it took me so long to chase this down.. Monday.

I don't expect you to figure it all out unless you want to. I just started fooling around with it and found some info on xda but didn't try the links to know they didn't work.

Unfortunately - I will chase things down for my own curiosity. If it helps someone else.. We both win.

I tried mucking with the unzipped files from a fontpack. Nothing worked. It's easy enough just flashing them, so I'll keep doing that. However, if there is a way to get them onto the menu would be awesome.

I just keep a collection of em on my sd. Not having a preview of them is a drag tho.

I found the programs and files (I'm not sure if the monoglyceride font is digitally signed, but I think so) but the APK software says I don't have Java and can't use the APKTool. Maybe you have what you need.

Apk Manager 4.8 found here. This will allow you to decompile and edit the APK attached at the bottom of this link. Dont worry its much easier then it sounds.

FontCreator 30 day trial found here. This is a windows only program.
***Link for FontCreator has been downgraded to version 5, which will allow you to save fonts during the 30 day trial, unlike version 6. Thanks sigeltek***

Digitally Signed Monoglyceride font found here.

If you want to add a flipfont on the phone - must install the apk.. from the market - many are paid - a few are free...

Thank you for following those leads! I do have APK tool and manger .. I also pulled down the Font Creator.. I may get some time and toy around with this in the next couple of days.

I did find that there are a TON of free truetype fonts available everywhere on the internet.

You can download and install java for free - java.com.

I installed both the online version and the desktop version but APK still says I don't have Java. Liar!

--------------
I found help making it work - you have to have the path to Java. Now I'll try again.
