Hi Guys...Newbie here with a question on the t-mobile $30 plan. Some of you said there is no roaming? What do you mean? On their website they advertise "National coverage with no roaming charges" with "All of T-Mobile?s no annual contract calling
and data plans":
Monthly 4G Prepaid Plans | Compare Prepaid Data Plans | T-Mobile
I live on Long Island and often travel to NJ and PA and sometimes Buffalo, and want to make sure every time I travel I don't lose service...
In the footnotes of my plan, which is the $30 plan, it says:
Data Usage: Domestic and international roaming not available.
They say no roaming charges because that's the marketing spin of having no roaming. You don't get charged because you don't have it.
You need to find out if the areas you travel have Tmo coverage because you will either be on the Tmo network or not have service, except for Wifi.
Makes a good read though, not sure I understand the hot spot issue ?
Tmobile is pretty cheap and fast
That non roaming thing is bugging me. I was in Virginia a few weeks ago and my phone was working just fine but EVERYONE who had tmobile was barely getting a signal. Im not talking West Virginia, Im talking Busch Gardens populated Virginia.
I guess im stuck with Verizon.
I am seriously considering cancelling my Verizon contract and ordering the GSM Nexus from the Play Store. Am I correct in that there is no way to port my current phone number over to a prepaid monthly T-Mobile plan? It's a small trade off for no carrier shenanigans, just want to make sure.
Could always look at the MVNOs that operate on AT&T, like Straight Talk.
Problem is that it still operates on AT&T network. AT&T in NYC is absoulutely awful.
Is it better across the country?
