T-Mobile Free Micro Sims + Free Next Day Shipping!

I'll bet NexusGirlX gets more PMs than there're stars in the sky..... :D

That's not the problem. A few people message to say things they probably shouldn't as if the internet gives them permission so I learned a long time ago to ignore them completely.

Or just turn off PMs except for admins; some forums give that option.

Anyhoo, "back to our regularly scheduled program." (Just dated myself probably.)

Hey guys, I just got my Nexus 4 in the mail yesterday, and I totally missed out on this deal. I called a couple of local T-Mobile stores, one I got no answer, and the other they told me they would only sell me a sim if I got a plan with them then and there...of course they wouldn't offer the 100 min/unlimited text/5GB data plan...called Wal-Mart and they said they can't sell me a sim, and the cheapest phone (from which I could nab a sim) they have in stock is $40...

Anyway, would any of you fortunate enough to have gotten an extra micro sim totally for free be willing to send me one? I would be willing to pay a fair amount for it. You can email me: f4phantom2500@gmail.com

Not to be rude, but is this a joke? Why would you need someone here to send you a SIM and pay a "fair" amount when you can just order it from t-mobile for $10 bucks or from Amazon and even better, Best Buy (they have the SIM kits hanging on the shelves). Non-corporate usually usually don't care and will sell you one as well. Not understanding why you cannot use these options if your local corporare stores won't help.

As usual, timing is everything. Purchased my Google Nexus 4 last night only to discover I can no longer find the $30 G4 Monthly plan on T Mobile's website. Also, their mciro sim card /activation kit is now $10. Does anyone see different? New to this. Thanks.:'(

Don't fret, they still have the plan you want it is just kind of hard to find. Make sure that you are on the "Prepaid" Tmobile site. Prepaid Cell Phone Plans, No Annual Contract | Monthly 4G | T-Mobile
The plan is there, it is just in the bottom left hand corner. You will be able to sign up for it when you activate your sim card. It is a one shot deal. You have to do it online and you can only do it at activation.

Also, their mciro sim card /activation kit is now $10

That could be. $10 is the normal price and the 99 cents was a heck of a deal, but the benefit wasn't so much the $9 discount but more the expedited free shipping. When I ordered my Tmo $10 sim it took 2 weeks to get to me and I couldn't track online and it was frustrating. I wish I had just paid the extra the cost for expedited shipping in addition to the $10 just so I could have been able to track. My Nexus came 2 weeks before my sim.

BTW congratulations!! The Nexus 4 is awesome and by far the best deal out there. You can't beat pure android and contract-free!

Much obliged for the information! Just put the sim card order through. I've read that a major potential disadvantage with the prepaid plan is that its coverage is less than the monthly plans. Do you know if this is true? I live and work in Seattle zip 98133 and 98103. Thanks!

I just checked that link and it says $10. Has T-Mobile already removed the free sim card?

Yes, that free sim card deal was only available for a week and I posted this way back in March on the 18th. usually their sales end overnight Saturday/Sunday.

I have no expertise or tech knowledge but these threads seem to suggest postpaid coverage might get higher network priority (whatever that means) should the network or the tower you are using is congested at that particular moment, but I doubt the coverage map, in terms of area size, would be bigger for Tmo postpaid. I live in Portland and have Tmo prepaid and the coverage down here is outstanding. I can only surmise that Seattle would be much better since your market is so much bigger. The only drawback is that Tmo doesn't seem to get very good signal indoors, including my condo, but my building is made of pretty thick concrete and steel and I don't think that has anything to do with postpaid or prepaid.

Thank you for the input. That's helpful. I look forward to testing the waters when I receive my Nexus (hopefully) next week. I'm doing a 3-day outing into the Olympics end of April and will have a chance to expand the usage test. Plan to get Google Voice installed to try the wifi calling and keep the minute usage to a minimum. Will post anything interesting.

What's different in coverage between prepaid and postpaid is the roaming footprint. The roaming agreements are broader for postpaid. Postpaid can also data roam where prepaid from T-Mobile directly can't.

Please post your results. I'm interested to know what kind of reception you get in the park. Probably OK in Port Angeles and maybe along most of 101, but tmo is not known for great coverage off the beaten path. I'm probably going back up that way for vacation this Summer so have a personal interest. :D

Will do. Current itinerary includes : Hurricane Ridge, around Port Townsend and various locations on Whidbey Island.

I did a trip like this last summer, and the only way to describe the coverage is "sucks". It works in Port Townsend, occasionally roams over to AT&T along 101, EDGE in Forks, back to HSPA in Aberdeen, barely, same in Long Beach and Astoria. In the national park, it pretty much doesn't work. Whidbey seemed OK when I lived in Seattle a few years ago.

Wow. That's pretty sad. We'll have a basic phone on hand with Verizon to cover loose ground. Thanks for the heads-up.
