Re: T-Mobile/GSM Unlocked: Android KitKat 4.4.2 Release Notes

Im trying to load 4.4.2 using your link but cant. I downloaded the file from mega powered off and followed the steps but when it comes time to install the update from download the phone wont verify the install and abort the install. Also the mega apps default download location is internal cache which isnt a option in recovery. Your directions are fine but using the mega app and trying to do the same thing is confusing as heck for this noob. Any help?

Maybe bad download, I had to do it second time. Uninstall mega, reinstall and re download update to download folder. Then retry steps.

If you don't want to deal with the mega app, under the menu for chrome check "request desktop site" and it will go to mega's desktop version where you can just download regularly from chrome and it will show up in downloads. Alternatively, you can download it on a computer and transfer to your phone.

So, what is the consensus here? Is this the slowest OTA in history or the ones who got OTAs are accidents? Part of soak test and don't know it?

I don't know about the people that got the OTA without being a part of the soak test (perhaps they leaked?) but according to this article it's actually truly official and everyone should be getting it now.

For over a week I've been tapping on Settings>About>System updates and was so surprised when this evening it popped up with the Update screen I almost dropped my phone.:-)

Following the update, noticed that the icon "Motocare" is now "Help"

Re: T-Mobile/GSM Unlocked: Android KitKat 4.4.2 Release Notes

I did not get any Update Notification as how I got for 4.4. But, when I checked manually, it was available. Voila!!! My Moto X is now updated to 4.4.2 :)

My battery life was average especially the idle drain. I hope it gets improved with this update. Will post my experience after few days.

But, surprise surprise, the camera quality looks to be improved especially in low lights. Before this update, I used to see lot of noise in the low light pics (without flash). Today, I took many pics in similar condition and I could see big difference.

In fact, I was planning to buy either Camera Zoom FX or Camera FV 5. I guess I can live with the stock camera. Did any one else experience the same in camera?
