T-Mobile LG G3 New Lollipop Build

It is better.

But still not as smooth as kit kat was.

I still have trouble connecting and staying connected to WiFi. .

Bluetooth connections have about a 50/50 shot of connecting on the first try.

Restarts are down to every other day.

I had none of these issues with kit kat. .

But it is still much better then the initial update.

Sad, when I am relatively happy that my 500.00 phone kind of works the way it is supposed to.

Some days I really miss having equipment that actually works the way it is supposed to.

I had no idea that lollipop got rid of lock screen widgets. I'm really missing not having to unlock my phone to use quick remote now.

Actually I didn't know that either. Since my phone runs essentially perfectly perhaps I won't go for the update. I really don't want to trash my phone to just get VoLTE.

Yeah it's not a huge deal but I really liked having the android central widget and the quick remote on my lock screen.

Okay, I am going to avoid the update again.

I wish they made an update that was pretty much problem free. I think this update, in the T-Mobile version, has fewest issues judging from the amount of negative posts I have found.

I have been running 20e on my g3 from tmobile for a while now. The only thing that is a little better is wifi not connecting. It dropped for 4 hours today which made me re-investigate the issues with it. Battery still drains in half a day and gets hot sometimes. Seriously slow and laggy. Not just apps. Was lightning quick on kitkat. When i spoke with lg about it the first day i upgraded to lollipop in the spring they told me i would have to mail it in (thailand or korea or singapore it sounded like) and I would lose my contacts/files and it would take 2 weeks. I had only had my phone for 3 weeks and paid over 600 dollars for it at the time. Beyond pissed at how ****ty this thing is and how i cant easily revert back to 4.4. Who goes without a phone for 2 weeks? Where is the customer service? They took my info down and have never contacted me once about it.

Extremely upset longtime customer.

About 2 weeks ago I went ahead and updated to the OTA Lollipop 20e. This time backed everything up and wiped the phone before the update. The phone does run smoother and the heat issue is diminished compare to the b version. However the battery drain is much greater than KitKat and the update killed Wi-Fi calling, but Wi-Fi connections work fine. I also lost 3rd part eq control on some of my streaming apps which also happened on the b version. I did get the VoLTE which is what I wanted. I got tired to being dropped down to Hspa or 2G while making a call when I needed the LTE connection while online. It was a trade off for me that I decided to take...
A side note though: I picked up an LG Leon "mini" G3 for a back up for $69. It is pretty sad that it just got updated to 5.1.1 and has band 12 and picks up better than my G3. The third party EQ works perfectly on all the streaming apps too. It is pretty sad that an entry level Snapdragon 400 works better in some regards to the G3. If they slapped and extra gig of ram in it and at least 16 gb of memory they could sell a bunch of them. Not everyone plays cutting edge games that require faster and faster cpus....or pay 10 times the price for a phone that is not 10 times better.
