T-Mobile S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

Frustrating to wait now :( even more frustrating to see/hear that Sprint folks are getting theirs before we will. Ugh.

I used to get frustrated by this. Then I realized that the whole reason I do pre-orders is for the experience of waiting out the anticipation of getting a new phone. Like I always say, these pre-order threads are half the fun!

Just looked at the Sprint thread and one poster stated it was for a s10e and they had no notofication for their other S10 order. Another member pointed out it more than likely just means that the label was printed. In the past I would get a notification that my phone had shipped (as did many others) but there wouldn't be any movement for a couple of days, pretty much everyone figured it simply meant that a shipping label was printed and nothing more.

Pro-tip. If you download the UPS app, you'll see a shipping label before you get a notification from T-Mobile, and possibly before you even see a credit card charge. For the Note 9 I saw a label in my UPS app before I got any other info from T-Mobile.

I have the UPS app but it never notified me of a shipping label unless I had the tracking # from my carrier.

You may need to sign up for UPS My Choice. It allows you to see all deliveries coming to your address and which days they are scheduled to be delivered.

@Lecrae116 @badbradd2 So I did log into my UPS account, but I didn't sign up for any paid service. I know you can pay for a UPS service that will allow you to track your package and schedule a shorter delivery window. But you shouldn't need to pay for anything just to get UPS to automatically populate your app with packages that are coming to your address.

Could I use a ups store address since that is where most of my deliveries end up?

i used to get notifications that the label was printed as well (in previous years) and literally there was no movement for something like 2 or 3 days, which seemed like a very long time (at that time ;) THAT actually is even worse than what we're going through now -- seeing that a label is generated but zero movement whatsoever is even more frustrating.

Right, I've never paid to use the My Choice service either. I've been using it for several years and it is a pretty cool tool.

I'm not sure, I've never tried that. I do know you can modify the delivery and select a UPS location but I don't know if that creates any sort of delay and/or whether you can see deliveries show up for that UPS store address.

You can use the app to redirect your package to a store. I did this once and it was delayed an extra day (fortunately I was able to call them and cancel the request). Maybe if you do it right after the label is created there will not be a delay. Personally I'd avoid this though, unless you're worried about people stealing your packages. I'm in an apartment with package receiving during the day so it's no problem, and I work 10 minutes away so I can just go and get it after delivery. If you live in a house and no one's home during the day, I can see why that might be a problem.

One trick you can do is just ask them to hold it at the distribution hub. Then if you're close by, you can just go and pick it up there.

Pretty sure it’s going to happen like either the note 9 or s9, they charged them and they didn’t move till Tuesday or Wednesday.

Yikes. that would be awful! many of us won't get ours until Monday then! bummer.

I highly doubt you'll get it after release date (if this happens like the Note 9). I didn't see movement until Tuesday for the Note 9, but apparently it had been moving since before then, because sometime on Tuesday it backfilled the tracking info with an origin scan, departure scan, etc. It was in town on Tuesday night for a Wednesday afternoon delivery.

I've never paid for overnight shipping and I've always gotten it on the same day as everyone else, going on about 5 years now.

My hope is TMobile US starts creating labels this weekend. Maybe, just maybe, they'll begin shipping Monday. 🤞
