T-Mobile S8+ Losing Signal

Hey guys, so I switched from the Sprint v20 to a tmobile s8+ and have my phone randomly lose signal at least once a day. The status bar shows full bars, 4g LTE but nothing loads and texts do not send/receive.

My buddy on my plan living in CO Springs has the same issue (I live in Albuquerque, NM), and we determined it usually happens while inside a building. Restarting the phone or turning airplane mode on/off does not fix it. The only thing we do is simply wait and a few minutes after going out, it starts working and all my notifications come in all at once.

It is not isolated to where I live, not sure if it's an issue with tmobile. My friend switched from verizon so we don't have any experience with tmobile. Is this normal? Any info/help appreciated.

I also switched to t-mobile and got s8 pluses for myself and the misses.
If we reboot her phone (9/10 times maybe) returns to home screen showing no signal. We've waited up to 20 mins and it won't find network. Then it becomes a reboot-fest to get it back to seeing network. Its odd...
Mine on the other hand is rock solid, reboot or not.

So looks like the incident is not isolated to just me and my friend. It's very frustrating because it basically just bricks the phone until it decides to let data through.

Would old sims be causing this for this many people? It's using a brand new sim card in both phones.

Ive had this happen a few times and replacing the sim has fixed it everytime. Both on T-Mo and AT&T. It wont cost you anything to get a new one so its definitely worth a shot. Let T-Mo know whats happening and give it a go.

I posted the same issues with sprint yesterday, is a bug with the S8 while in data, 4gLTE, sprint doesn't want to swap the phone for me

If that were true wouldn't it happen on all 4gLTE S8's? I'm not saying I think the phone is faulty, but that sounds... fishy

I've had numerous failed text. Never had it on any other phone recently. Switched from the stock texting app to google messenger app and haven't had the problem since.

My wife and I are having the same problem. Some texts not going thru, get failed message. She uses standard texting app and I use Textra, and im having problems with Textra, not getting some pics, messages. I dont want to use the standard texting app because you cant customize it. I was on Verizon network before and I didnt have these problems, maybe Tmobile just sucks, sorry to say. Im starting to regret switching to them a week ago

I am having the exact same problem on T-mobile with my galaxy s8. The SIM card is new. It only just started occurring a few days ago. Do you think it is an issue with one of the updates? I have full signal and it shows connection, but all data and texting ability goes down. It is fixed by going in and out of airplane mode. This shouldn't be happening at all though obviously.

It's not Tmobile. I'm also with them and use Textra and everything works flawlessly.

Sprint has the same thing, me and the misses always are yelling on the phone. All you hear is broken up bits of a call, think I'm going back to AT&T phone has to be a phone first

I think it's probably T-Mobile. I had the same problem with my s7 occasionally, but it hasn't happened since I got the s8. Now I have an issue with my phone jumping off my WiFi at home, saying that it will reconnect when network quality improves, despite the fact that I'm ten feet from the router and my laptop is working perfectly.

No issues on Verizon.. I use 1.5k minutes a month so I'd notice a hiccup :P.

I had this issue with My unlocked S7 Edge and my T-Mobile S8+ ...There are 2 areas I have had this issue around where I live. Both areas, there is a Tmobile tower nearby. For me it has something to do with the fact that I was close to a tower, I'm almost certain of it. Both phones would show Full Bars and LTE...no internet whatsoever.
Try this...when this is happening to you guys, go into network settings and change it from LTE/3G/2G to 3G/2G..it should go into 4G(Hspa) mode and work, even though you havent moved. The internet will just come back on.
I asked my tmobile store near one of the areas about it and their main tech guy said he'd never heard of the issue.
It's also not a T-Mobile issue...it's Samsung...I've driven other people into these areas and their phone works just fine. Once I drove a someone into the area and they said every time their phone stops working when they get there...that person had an S7 Edge.

With my S8 + I switched my access point from the fast.tmobile apn to lte.tmobile and it hasn't happened since...so try that...

I also have failed texts. I'm using the stock samsung texting app. What fixes it is airplane mode on/off but it's frustrating because this should be a non-issue.
