T-Mobile Stagefright update -- version LYZ28J

I have not received the patch - Moto X 2nd gen 2014. Called t-mobile support yesterday.
They knew absolutely nothing and could not find ANY information on Stagefright.
Between this virus and android's issued with bluetooth, I've decided to go back to iOS.

While this is technically not a virus, Cool! Good for ya! Bonus if ya believe that iOS is 100% secure.

From an article published in June, Major zero-day security flaws in iOS & OS X allow theft of both Keychain and app passwords | 9to5Mac "team reported the flaws to Apple in October of last year. At that time, Apple said that it understood the seriousness of the flaws and asked the researchers to give it six months to address them before the exploit was made public. In February, Apple requested an advance copy of the paper, yet the flaws remain present in the latest versions of both operating systems … "
So, bug existed, unpatched, and Apple made sure that iOS users were not even aware of this issue, for over 8 months! (not completely fixed till the upcoming iOS 9)

Google was notified about Stagefright in late April, and Google has fixed the bug and pushed the updates out to their Nexus devices, and to manufacturers. Your phone is apparently in line to get the fix soon - see link below. Still ahead of Apple's fix schedule.

But your choice. If you feel more secure with iOS, go for it!

BTW, Moto announced their plans for the fix a few days ago - These are Motorola's phones that will get 'Stagefright' fix | Android Central

Got mine a few days ago.
LYZ28J
No problems so far.
Nexus 6 is a great phone btw.
ps- if i move to any other OS it would be WP.

I installed mine a few days ago. Ever since then I can basically watch my battery tick down. I don't have any hard data but I would say I'm getting about half the battery life I was getting before. Keep in mind this is with the screen on frequently, probably awake more than asleep. No specific app seems to be a drain, Android system is always the top user at 11%. This is consistent with usage % before the upgrade.

Anecdotally from the time I get up until lunch I'm usually at about 70 percent. Since the upgrade I will be in the 30s by lunch.

I did do the typical cache partition wipe of course.

PS the camera now takes twice as long to open as well. From about 2 seconds to 4 seconds. I have noted no other changes.

If it helps I lost 2% in the time it took to edit and post this. Unfortunately I only have two days of battery history so I can't compare. Currently I'm using about 700mA. Nexus 6.

Got the patch and all seemed fine. Lookout's Stagefright Detector said all was well.
Yesterday, Lookout UPDATED its Stagefright detector. Now, "device is still vulnerable"

Is TMO preparing a new patch? I have no idea what's going on here.
