T-Mobile tethering hotspot VPN

It would seem that my work VPN or work IP Address is being blocked altogether now my T-mobile. Has anyone else experience this behavior?

Question: If you were to sign up for the new Unlimited (no tethering included) plan with Tmob and then use VPN to tether through your phone, would Tmob know? Can you even set up a system to do this?
