I'm about to buy this phone on eBay. The phone was being used on t mobile but the seller had it unlocked in January. Does that mean it will work on Verizon? I know Verizon uses CDMA and I think t mobile is GSM so I assume unlocking it makes it CDMA compatible? Thanks in advance for any replies.

It's the same hardware whether you buy from Verizon, T-Mobile or Google store so it should work fine on Verizon if it's SIM Unlocked from T-Mobile.

Only thing I believe is the carrier versions can't be bootloader unlocked (don't know if it's still the case), if that's something you care about. Also make sure it's not on some carrier payment plan or something like that so that it can't be blacklisted later.

I personally use Swappa when buying used devices.
Same here. The IEMI is always checked first and verified not blacklisted or stolen. There are a lot of Verizon Pixel 4 on Swappa brand new for less than $500 right now

Even though it's paid off, even on swappa I have heard you may be in trouble with insurance fraud. I have heard about stories where the seller files an insurance claim via carrier saying that phone is lost or something like that. Don't know how widespread it is but that's also a risk.
