T Mobile Use

Try the Fit update on the play store, but backup apk first, since it seems to have removed the ability to manually add an activity.

I did. It add an option to disable Fit from reading the body sensor on the phone. I disabled it. But the count on the Fit still lags behind the LG Health count but I can prove that it no longer reads phone's step counts.

I wonder if this step count issue the reason why the watch is recalled. For now, it looks really bad for LG and Google. Such a basic function of the watch.

there is a LG Health app on Play Store that I installed, but haven't launched it yet, cause it needs you to set up an LG account. Yeah, watch face steps are a bit off from time to time, but I haven't had it freeze my watch up, and it catches up after a bit, at least mine does.

The app was there in play store a few days ago but now it is gone. And my watch face still stuck on the yesterday's count but tap on it will display the correct step count on screen. No way to update it unless I reboot the phone or change the watch face.

I'm really torn now. I love the watch and find it to operate as expected except for the cellular issue on tmo. But I don't want to keep it if I can't get the cellular working

I wonder if T-Mo knew something ahead of time about the watch having problems and thats why they didnt carry it.

T-Mo uses 1700 AWS band for LTE. So, it is probably not possible for LG to product a watch that supports AWS band to be able to have LTE in its name.

I deleted the Fit app and reinstalled, and although the LG watch face is ahead since it counted steps for 4 hours before I reinstalled Fit, Fit is actually catching up on LG, rather than getting further behind. It was 20% behind LG, now it is 17% behind. I'll report back later if this keeps up. I don't think I want it to count more than LG, cause then, in my opinion, Fit would be overcounting. We'll shall see...

Re: T Mobile Wearables Plan sim card needs to be reprovisioned

Guys, here's an update on the wearables sim issue:

The Gear and Gear S2 issues were fixed 2 days ago per tech support. In my case, my wearables SIM card is still not working in the new LG watch, nor in the same Gear S I've used for the past year. After being bounced around to a bazillion CS reps, I finally ended with an engineer who is familiar with the issue and who has a Gear S himself!

Just like I suspected, some devices are being detected as non-wearables on their system, which puts a freeze on the sim cards inside indefinitely. They need to submit an internal ticket to have the device and/or wearables sim card (??) "reprovisioned" (hope that's the word he used), and it takes up to 5 business days after that for your service to be restored. He did, however, say that he would not know how to go about provisioning the LG watch as a wearable on their system, so, once it's been reprovisioned, if I put the wearable sim card back into the LG watch, the freeze will happen again. In other words, unless I can ask him to try and find a way, I don't think I'll be able to use the LG watch with my wearables sim. I will ask again, once my card is reinstated, since Daddy302 is successfully using his. That's why these forums are so useful!

He seems to be the ONLY person at T-mo who knows how to handle the wearables issue, and says he had had to do it many times before. When he calls me back, I'll ask how to get in touch with him directly in case others need his help, or this happens again.

A several days' long chase for a fix is unacceptable, as were some of the answers I was given, which were frankly insulting, but would have made someone else give up. I've heard everything from "maybe the device lock reverted itself, it can happen sometimes" (not a joke, they really said that!) to "maybe it was only partially unlocked by ATT" to "maybe it's not using the correct bands" and "maybe the sim card is just defective and we need to get you (yet another) new one"...

At some point yesterday I was told by a tech guy that the T-mobile wearables plan only works with T-mobile devices - and that I should have never been able to use it with mt ATT Gear S. He sent me over to an accounts specialist so I could "cancel my service", and when i asked to show this to me black on white on their website, she could not find it anywhere, connected me with another tech guy, who FINALLY had a grasp on what as going on and then transferred me over to the engineer mentioned above.

Anyway, I hope this will help others.

So, I swapped my iPad sim with the wearable and left my phone at home today, no issues communicating with the phone at all. I will not have talk or text, but to be honest that's not really what I want it for anyway. Just a little worried that I won't receive updates if I decide to keep it. Thoughts?

As a followup, i ordered an H20 Wireless sim from amazon for one cent with prime and recieved it this morning. activated on a pay per go plan for $10 and it works fine on hspa. Going to give this a go and see how long it takes to run out of data.

I am thinking of trying this also. Did you have any issues activating with H20? Are you able to access data when on cellular only? Were the APN settings automatically configured when you activated the SIM? I tried using a Ting SIM and can't access data. I can make calls but the data is always disconnected. The APN settings in the watch are incorrect for Ting but I can't find a way to manually edit them. I also couldn't get GPS to lock on any app (Google maps, ghostracer, etc.) when not paired with the phone. Wondering if that's related to the data issue also.

GPS requires data to get a lock quickly. Without data, prepare to stand outside with clear view of sky for 10 minutes or so to get a lock.
