T9 Dialing in Stock Dialer?

Any way to enable T9 dialing in the stock 4.1.1 dialer?

I have an HTC Evo running CM9, and there is an option in settings for that. Can I just copy the apk to the Galaxy Nexus?

A lot of people use Dialer one to have the T9, as well as exDialer .

I wonder if Groove IP can integrate with those. I guess only one way to find out...

Seems to work just fine with Dialer One. I dialed "CAM". It found the person, but the call was completed using Groove IP (I have the "always use when on wifi" feature enabled).

Thanks a lot. Lack of T9 for dialing is really annoying.

If you want to use the stock dialer, you can hit the magnifying glass in the lower left corner of the dialer. This will bring up your keyboard and you can a search of your contacts by either letters or numbers. While it's not quite as straightforward as just being able to use the dialpad and search numbers and letters at the same time, it has the same effect really since you would already know whether you wanted to search by number or letters.
