Tab 12.2 Tablet Working Extremely Slow - any advise to speed it back up?

I have a Tab 12.2, SM-T900, that's 4 years old.
It has worked great over the years, and yes, in tech world, it's 'old'.

I'm trying to figure out how to get it back running quicker.
I've cleared the partition, when it's off, hold power/volume/home button....

I also have a downloaded AVG Cleaner app.
Nothing really helps.

Any advise you guys may have to get things back to normal, I'd appreciate it.

I don't recommend cleaner apps as they can contribute to slowdowns, might need a factory reset .

That tablet launched in 2013 unless I'm mistaken, it's not gonna feel fast by any means running the latest apps.

I know older Samsung devices used to slow down due to Touchwiz, clearing the data for the touchwiz app often sped up older Samsung devices but keep in mind it resets your home screen layout.

I moved this to the Tab Pro 12.2 forum for more specific traffic.

I would also agree with a factory reset, but it probably won't do that much.

I might uninstall some apps, and as a last resort do a factory reset.
I do fear it's too old, but since I mostly do things on the internet, I didn't want to 'junk' it just yet.

one post mention touch wiz might be the problem. If so, you can bypass it by installing a launcher.

Good idea -- I would recommend giving Nova Launcher a try.
