Tab S3, running Android Pie - lost Multi view??

I have always had and used the multi window function. Loved it! Well, I went to use it this weekend - with the same 2 apps I always did - but the two little bars at the top of the page is GONE. EVERYWHERE. I tried several different apps. I searched the settings for MULTIVIEW, Multi window, split screen or multi anything - it's nowhere to be found

I googled how to open it and was directed to Settings, etc - but there is no option under Advanced Settings.

I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

Just read this somewhere, "You need to long press the open program button at the bottom of the screen and then choose the second window program you want."
But when I long press the center button on the bottom of the tablet, it opens google assistant. HELP

Figured it out. I persisted and finally found it on google. Thanks Google

What is the solution that you found?
I am frustrated with the same problem and Google is of no help to me.

Press the recente apps buton, than you see recent apps.
In de top center press on the icon, see picture (two arrows at top)



New pop-up (third arrow), here you can select split windo, than choose second app.
