Tab seems unusually slow...any way to give it a boost?

Had my Tab 10.1 for almost two years now. It's never been lightening fast or super responsive, but it just seems unusually slow to respond to touch commands and screen rotation. I don't use it heavily, mainly because it seems so slow. I have all the latest updates, but I'm wondering if there is any way to optimize it and get to run a little smoother and faster?

Thanks!

Well, one thing you can do is go into Developer options (if you don't see it, go to About device and tap the build number 7 times). Then head into Developer options and have your way with the animations (disabling them, that is) by setting Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale to Off.

You an also go to Application Mangler Manager, slide over to All, tap and disable/turn off any apps you don't think you'll use.

Further, you can get a freebee called Clean Master that comes with a nifty widget that'll let you clean up RAM should it get low.

Try these things and see if they make any difference.

Thanks, Haalcyon! I've followed your suggestions and will see how they help in the days ahead.

The way my week has unfolded, I haven't actually used it for anything other than my Kindle app. However, with major surgery to repair a broken foot just a couple hours away, I am anticipating some use this weekend, so hopefully I'll have a chance to evaluate.

Have had mine for 2 years also. Got so slow that I hated using it. Did a factory reset and things are moving much faster. Netflix says my device is not compatable now though....
