My Asus tf700t has been locking up and either shutting down and restarting on its own or requiring me to hold down the power button until it restarts. Anyone else having this problem or know a fix? I've deleted several recently added apps and checked for updates but that hasn't worked. Love my tablet but this is frustrating and annoying.

Have you tried to do a cold boot?
That often clears up conflicts which may be residual even after deleting an app that caused problems.
Shut down the tablet, hold the power button and the Volume DOWN button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. let go of them when you see the stock recovery screen and let the tablet boot normally.
If that doesn't do it, you may have to look into hardware problems:
Does it change anything if you run the tablet in power saving, balanced, or performance mode?
Does it overheat? there are apps to check that in the play store.
Good luck, don't give up-this is probably solvable.

Edit: Try the cold boot first, and btw, your data is not affected by a cold boot, you won't loose anything. It just clears various caches - gives the tab a clean start so to speak.
If that doesn't help, you may want to follow this thread over on the XDA forum:
★★ CleanROM Inheritance 3.x | DEODEX & ODEX | OC Kernel | OFFICIAL HELP THREAD ★★ - Page 20 - xda-developers
Go to page 20, Laetus 1 seems to have a similar problem with random crashes and boots and ThatsOk, who's trying to help him, is a real quality guy.
Somewhat different situation because that guy is on a custom ROM, but you may be able to learn something anyway.
