I've been using ES File Explorer since forever, I believe since my first Android phone. I actually like and will keep using it on my phone. But on the tablet it doesn't make much sense using a "single column" file explorer. I tried Solid Explorer but it wasn't good enough, like ES File Explorer.

I really use the network connections ES provides, like remote accessing files on my computer (Windows Shared Folders) and FTP/SFTP. The NET I actually don't use much since I sync almost everything with FolderSync, so I rarely need to access the cloud to get important files, they are synced on the tablet.

So, basically, I'm looking for something like the ES File Explorer, that have it's perks, but more tablet friendly.

What are you guys using, so I can filter instead of trying every single File Explorer out there (there are a lot of them).

Thank you in advance ;)

Hmm never thought about the tablet friendly or "dual column" file explorer.. Guess that would make sense.

Your in the right neighborhood though, ES File Explorer is about the best it gets in my opinion. So versatile.

Yeah, right? I really like ES, the only wrong thing about it, for tablets, is the fact that it doesn't take advantage of screen resolution at all. I mean, it's perfect for phones, but a better screen use would make it perfect for tablets also. I'll email them to know if a tablet version is planned.

I use both ES File Explorer and Solid Explorer on my Nexus 7. I tend to use Solid Explorer more, just due to subjective personal preference, I guess.

Anyway, Solid Explorer does offer network connections and lots of other features that the developer continues to add on. But to your main concern, in landscape mode it does indeed have two column support, so I file browse my tablet on one side and my remote PC on the other, or whatever two different directories you want to look at.

If it's been a while since you tried it, it's had quite a few updates during the past couple of months, so you might want to check it out again. If it just ain't your cup of tea, I understand!
