Tablet not rebooting to update to 5.0.2

Finally decided to update to Lollipop, but when I click the install button it gets stuck and won't reboot to install the update. It just says rebooting but nothing happens.

Does anyone have any ideas to sort this out without doing a hard reset?

Can you get to bootloader (power+volume down)? Will it start from that screen? Do you have computer set up go run fastboot commands? If so, flash stock image from google. If not, you'd probably find trying factory reset the only possible solution. Other people seemed to have had similar issue with that update.

nexus 7 is not the only one, Verizon ellipsis 7 does the same, based on there the same models but different names
