tablet with no/black display, but camera is working..

Hey,

my Asus Memo Pad 8 turned black. First I thought it is the battery, though I figured out that I still can make screenshots with Power + Volume Buttons (I hear the sound).
Then if I go to a dark room I can see lights shining inside the tablet. I think this is the backlight?
And than there is a strange sound: tik tik tik then 1 sec pause and tik tik tik again.

What I did so far: pressing all button in all combinations from 10sec to 5min. I opened the Tablet and disconnected and reconnected the cables for battery and the big flat one.

What can be wrong? What could I try more?

Welcome to Android Central! I would guess that the screen has failed. Perhaps the backlight is still working, but the actual LCD screen is faulty. You probably have to bring it to a repair shop for replacement.
