Looking for advice on Android tablets. 7 to 10". Mid range price. Have not owned one before. Needs plenty of memory. Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Samsung tablets would be the common response, but the good ones tend to be pretty pricey. If you want to try a decent one that's significantly less expensive, consider the Lenovo Tab 4 10". I have the 8", and it's a remarkably good value (although the 8" only goes up to 16 GB; the 10" is 32 GB).

Samsung tablets are very good, But if you want a relatively good product and relatively cheap I've discovered that LENOVO is not bad at all.

If you're still looking, woot.com has the refurbished Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus for a measly $79! computers.woot.com/offers/lenovo-8-tab4-8-plus-16gb. This is better than the regular Tab 4 8 because it has a Snapdragon 625 (up from the 425) and a full HD 1920x1200 screen. Everything else should be about the same, and it was still updated to Oreo. At that price, I couldn't resist -- I just ordered one!:p
@tube517 you might want to check this out!

Quick update -- I've since learned from other forum posts that this particular model (TB-8704V, which is the Verizon 4G model) did not get updated past 7.1.1, unlike the regular Tab 4 8, which got 8.1. Presumably this is because of Verizon (boo!).

Another update -- DO NOT GET THE LENOVO TAB 4 8 PLUS being sold by Woot.com! I discovered after receiving it today that there's a well-described bug that causes wi-fi connection to be dropped frequently. There's a long support thread about it here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo...and/WiFi-issue-with-Tab-4-8-Plus/td-p/3986227 (wish I had seen that before I had ordered it!) No solutions offered by Lenovo. It sounds like it might be a glitch introduced by a system update which they never bothered to patch. Interestingly, this never happens on my Lenovo Tab 4 8 (the non-Plus version). I'm going to start the return process tonight.
