I got absolutely sick of waiting for an OTA of 2.2. I took the matter (and risk) into my own hands to get my phone i paid FULL PRICE to run the way I want it to. So, I thought outside the box and installed clockwork, DK28, and Truly epic, took me a few hours with a backwoods yee haw 40KB connection. I ran quandrant and realized it really sped it up, especially with EXT4 filesystem. with my 32GB class 4 card, it's a speedy lil thing (helps for HD video transfers).
I had an odd thing happen though. I had next to no service, everywhere. places where I got 4-5 bars, I got 2. places where I had 1mbit, I got 40k, what whaat? Here's the odd thing - once I started making voice calls, the overall connection got better, to the point where the connection where I live had a slight improvement. Now it seems I feel like I should keep my phone the way it is without even caring when 2.2 comes out to the masses. I feel like I've been changed, digitally ;).
I would like to thank the forums as a whole and the originators of the guides I have used to make my epic 4g the best phone I have ever purchased.
Curious, has anyone had a bad connection after switching? I don't understand the GPS issue, since it seems accurate enough, so far.
Thank you everyone for your time in reading this. I haven't posted on a forum in quite some time. (since gamespot in '04)

Yea I like TER so much i may say no to the OTA unless there's crazy reviews on it.

this is a nice post. made me laugh and smile haha

but to the peeps talking about OTAs, i hope you know you guys dont get them now that you are rooted. and there should be absolutely no need to get them. in fact itll be more of a pain for you to restore your phone and then update, instead of just flashign a zip from a developer which will come before most even get the update

OTA ?? What is that? Oh ya I forgot that was that term that everyone used when they purchased their Samsung Galaxy S device...

After custom DK28 Froyo rom, I honestly would never see myself returning to an official build. People say other than Flash and SD card capabilities what more is there? When your talking custom ROMs its a whole different world and until you see it for yourself its hard to understand the hype.
