Talking Tom, Santa, etc. don't work on my Epic!

Hey there-

Ever since I picked up my Epic, the listen and repeat apps, such as Talking Tom, don't work properly. Sometimes they'll repeat the first thing I say, but then they just listen for the maximum amount of time before repeating anything, even in complete silence.

When they do finally repeat, it sounds alright, although a little blown out. Also, other voice command features work just fine. It seems like the microphone is somehow becoming extremely sensitive within these apps.

I have a 2-year-old who loves to play with Talking Tom and would love to get the problem figured out. Any ideas?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

Rebooting the phone when this occurs might help.

Are these the only apps that have any issues?

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, and have rebooted many times, to no avail. It's been an issue on all of the 'Talking ___' apps I've tried, but I haven't run into problems anywhere else.

Well a cursory google search for your problem didn't bring back anything useful. I've used the app in the past with no issues so I really have no clue.

By chance is there any background noise going on when this occurs? I noticed even if I had the TV on slightly or somebody was talking in another room it would have trouble focusing on the person holding the phone.

I will say that my niece really loved the app though!

Good luck with your issue, wish I could be of more assistance. Short of a factory reset I can't think of any suggestions.

Actually runs fine on my epic, but my wife's is doing the same as yours and couldn't get it to work either /uninstalled... My sister's intercept ran it somewhat decent. Don't know what to tell ya except your not alone.

It should work. It worked fine on both our Epics.

If unistall/reinstall the application doesn't fix the issue then its hard finding anything else that will. Did you clear data, cache, and uninstall updates in market itself. Menu - settings. - application - manage application - market.
